Ravangla, May 5: (IPR) The Hon’ble Minister, Agriculture, Horticulture and Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services Shri Lok Nath Sharma paid a visit to Sub-Divisional Veterinary Hospital and Horticulture farm at Ravangla, today.
During the visit, Minister Sharma also met with the Hon’ble Area MLA, Barfung Constituency Shri Tashi Thendup Bhutia at the Veterinary Hospital and interacted with the officials on the current scenario of Agriculture, Horticulture Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services under Barfung Constituency. Likewise, he also urged for proactive cooperation to enhance farmers produce and to address their requirements, collectively. The Minister also assured to provide all essential services from the state government during COVID-19 pandemic.
Minister Sharma interacted with the Additional Director AH&VS, Dr Mala Bajgai along with other officials and took stock of the veterinary services availed in the hospital and other veterinary centres in the district. Besides, the matter related to registration of the landed property was also discussed for further strengthening of the infrastructure.
After visiting the Veterinary Hospital, Minister Sharma and the Area MLA carried out a joint field inspection of Horticulture Farm at 14th Mile, Ravangla. Minister Sharma thoroughly visited farms of vegetable nursery production, potato seed production and multiple polyhouses. He also interacted with the officials, field functionaries and the labourers of the farm and advised for setting up of an exemplary Model Integrated Farm with the initiation of dairy farming as well. He also stressed for proper utilisation of uncultivated area spread over 28 hectares to enhance productivity in large scale.
During his visit, the Minister was accompanied by the Deputy Directors (Horticulture) South Shri Dikendra Bhujel and Shri Robin Gurung and Deputy Director (Agriculture)Shri Pratap Subba and other officials.
