Hon’ble Minister Shri. K N Lepcha chaired a meeting regarding Mangan Bazar’s Landslide areas

Mangan, June 13: (IPR) Hon’ble Minister for Land Revenue & Disaster Management & Education Department Shri. Kunga Nima Lepcha today chaired a meeting at chamber of the District Collector, North regarding Mangan Bazar’s Landslide areas. He was accompanied by Hon’ble Area MLA Lachen Mangan Constituency-cum-Minister Roads & Bridges, Cultural Affairs and Heritage Department Shri. Samdup Lepcha, District Collector, North Shri Tenzing T. Kaleon, Relief Commissioner- cum-Secretary Shri. P.N Sherpa and team, SP north Smt. Ongmu Bhutia , SDPO Mangan, Officers from BRO , and others officers from line department of the district.

Meeting started with the welcome address delivered by the DC north, followed by the Power Point Presentation on Landslide areas of SNT Complex by the Project Coordinate Shri. Pemzang Tenzing.

Minister, Shri Kunga Nima Lepcha Stating the landslide area is in worse condition he instructed all stakeholders to expedite work of restoration as it is almost getting delay. He assured that today’s meeting is basically conducted for to ensure the safety of Mangan Bazar, furthermore he assured to make North District a Model District.

In order to achieve better result he urged all the concerned department needs to work in tandem with each other and quality work is a big factor that leads true sense of development, he added.

Lastly he urged to the BRO Officers to get prior concern of the local Public or concern Panchayat members before mentioning name of any place in any signboards.

Minister, Samdup Lepcha stated that main aim is to protect the Mangan Bazar Area from landslide therefore quality of work can not be compromised at any cost. He informed that an Independent body has been formed for execution of work.

He insisted that the work must be completed in stipulated in time for this concerned departments must go hand in hand. He said if NOC from forest department and other procedure of tender have been done work could be started from from the first week of July.

Hon’ble Ministers also visited Landslides areas at SNT complex areas after the meeting.
