Gyalshing, October 20: (IPR) On the second day of ongoing distribution of State Government’s benefits in Gyalshing Bermiok constituency, the Hon’ble Minister-cum-Area MLA Shri Lok Nath Sharma handed over allotment order of GCI Sheet, House Upgradation Cheques sanctioned under Garib Awas Yojana to the beneficiaries of Chingthang Gram Panchayat Unit, today. The program of disbursement of allotment orders of GCI Sheet & House Upgradation Cheques sanctioned under Sikkim Garib Awas Yojana was organized by Rural Development Department, Government of Sikkim at Chingthang Gram Prashasan Kendra.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Sharma said that the ruling state government, under the leadership of the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang (Golay), has been working tirelessly to translate his commitment, practically into action.
Minister Sharma elaborated on unique features of the newly launched Sikkim Garib Awas Yojana and durable quality of GCI sheet and said that the state government is fully committed to uplift economically poor and deprived households. He urged every beneficiary to keep monitoring sincerely, so as to ensure quality raw materials and construction works of Sikkim Garib Awas Yojana. He also urged leftover households to have the patience to be benefited in a phase-wise manner.
He also said that the required irrigation channel will be constructed to promote agriculture farming. He advised villagers to adopt cluster cultivation of Ginger and Turmeric in a favorable climate of GPU. Further, he informed that the state government has been planning for financial incentives for selling the production of Ginger, Turmeric, Orange, Buckwheat, and Cardamom.
Minister Sharma also shared ongoing developmental works of constituency.
In his concluding remarks, Minister Sharma extended warm greetings and best wishes for the Dussehra festival.
Earlier, Under Secretary, Rural Development Department, West District, Shri N.B. Bishwakarma informed about the newly launched Housing scheme of Sikkim Garib Awas Yojana and its objectives. Informing beneficiaries of House Upgradation, he said that, as per recently issued guidelines of Reserve Bank of India, Cheques amounting to above Rupees One Thousand need to be deposited in the account of the beneficiaries.
The program was also attended by Block Development Officer Hee Martam Smt Prativa Tamang, Panchayats, beneficiaries and others.
