RDD West, disbursed the allotment order of SGAY t the beneficiaries of four GPU unde Hee Martam Block

Gyalshing, Nov.9(IPR): The Rural Development Department, West District, Government of Sikkim, disbursed the allotment order of Sikkim Garib Awas Yojana ( SGAY) to the beneficiaries of four Gram Panchayat Units under Hee Martam Block in an special programme organised at Martam (VAC)Village Administrative Centre, today.

Hon’ble Minister-cum-Area MLA of Gyalshing Bermiok constituency Shri Lok Nath Sharma graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and handed over allotment order of SGAY to the beneficiaries where a total of eighty beneficiaries of Martam GPU, Pechrek Hee Patal GPU, Bermiok Berthang GPU and Chingthang GPU received the allotment order of SGAY.

Minister in his address, stressed upon use of quality raw materials for the construction of house under SGAY to fulfill objectives and vision of the state government. He urged every beneficiaries to be actively involved and monitor entire construction process. He informed that two persons have been newly appointed to supervise all essential nitty-gritties of construction work to ensure strong physical structure and better output. He also anticipated to complete construction work of allotted One Hundred House in the constituency within the stipulated time and directed all concerned to complete assigned work by the year 2021. He urged left out population to have patience on housing benefits in the next phase.

Minister also threw lights on the objectives behind newly launched housing scheme of Chief Minister Garib Awas Yojana. In his address, Mr Sharma said that the ruling government has translated its commitment in practice with the introduction of SGAY of Rupees Seventeen Lakhs and Fifty One Thousand for the upliftment of underprivileged and deprived households.

He also informed gathering on the current global scenario affected by the COVID-19 and enlightened on preventive measures that need to be applied by every individuals.

He also emphasised on the importance of development in educational institutions and expressed his happiness on the transformational change being observed in some of the schools in Gyalshing Bermiok constituency. Further he informed that Bermiok Sr. Secondary School has been upgraded with newly introduced Science stream and also shared upcoming development of Basketball Ground and Coaching Centre in the premises.

Speaking in the context of power supply in the vicinity, Minister Sharma informed that proposed Installation of Mini Power Sub Station at Martam will ensure adequate power supply in near future.

The state government has commenced construction of new road connectivity in various pockets in the constituency and also shared scope of projected National Highway to be connected with Chewa Bhanjyang at the border.

The state government, under the leadership of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Sikkim Shri Prem Singh Tamang, has transformed Gyalshing District Hospital with newly installed medical facilities of X-Ray and Kidney dialysis Unit and the government will also install facilities of Operation Theatre and Intensive Care Unit, at the earliest. He also shared proposal of establishment of three Primary Health Sub Centre under Hee Martam BAC.

Minister Sharma also underlined on the scope of employment opportunities in upcoming Cutting and Tailoring Cottage Industry at Mangsel which is likely to be inaugurated in near future.

He also articulated on the significance of farming profession and motivated youths to adopt lucrative profession of agriculture and livestock farm.

ADC Development( West) Shri Surat Gurung drew lights on the introduction and objectives of SGAY and said that one hundred beneficiaries were to be awarded allotment order in the constituency. He also urged beneficiaries to extend full cooperation to ensure quality construction on stipulated time.

Earlier, one minute silence was observed to pay tribute to the departed soul of the Former Chief Minister of Sikkim Shri Sanchaman Limboo.
