Gyalshing, 22 February (IPR): A coordination meeting with regards to the implementation of ‘Aatma Nirbhar Sikkim’ was held at the Conference Hall of the Zilla Panchayat Bhavan, Kyongsa, West Sikkim, today. Additional District Collector, West, Shri. Agawane Rohan Ramesh chaired the meeting as the Chief Guest.
The meeting also had the presence of Shri. Om Prakash Singh, Dy.Commandant 72 Bn SSB, Deputy Director, Education Department /West Shri Jiwan Prakash Chettri, Divisional Engineer, Power Department/West Shri. Prakash Subba, District Youth Officer, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Shri. Dev Nepal, Staffs from Education Department/West, teachers and students representative from the concerned schools of the district along with the members of the NGOs.
It is pertinent to mention here that Aatma Nirbhar Sikkim is a joint initiative of District Administration and Nehru Yuva Kendra, West Sikkim under the flagship program, ‘Aatma Nirbhar Bharat’ of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India to inculcate the entrepreneurship skills among the students and youths with the aim to encourage them to achieve full potential and skills in a progressive manner.
A total of 18 Senior Secondary and Secondary Schools of the district would form a team respectively and shall install a stall at their respective block’s Bazar from 5th March to 7th March. Each team would comprise 10 students and 2 nodal teachers who would be responsible for the guidance of the students engaged under the supervision of the concerned Nehru Yuva Kendra volunteers.
ADC West, in his address to the attendees, highlighted various important guidelines of the scheme, whilst had an interactive session with the students and encouraged them on voluntary entrepreneurship efforts. While, expressing the importance of students being the flag barrier to the utmost crucial responsibility of taking and shaping the society into the exemplary state, where the earning opportunity in the vastness of entrepreneurial venture is just as far as making a distinctive approach.
He also urged representing schools to come in a collaborative approach with the concerned line departments to lend with the much needed helping hands in favour of the students and motivated on taking the initiative in an aesthetic manner and urged for letting students decide regarding the things they want to sell at their stalls which would be fun with learning theory. He assured on providing every assistance possible in favour of the cause, as he believes it to be the once in the lifetime opportunity for the student to map their efforts to sustain themselves in the constantly growing competitive society.
ADC/West also requested all on adhering covid-19 norms with sincerity and encouraged all for providing proactive participation in regards to the centralized goal of uplifting entrepreneurial zest in the students.
