Sikkim observed its 46th Statehood Day

Gangtok, May 16 (IPR): In a brief function held here at Chintan Bhawan premises today, Sikkim observed its 46th Statehood Day in the presence of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang as chief guest.

The Hon’ble Chief Minister along with Deputy Speaker (SLA), Cabinet Ministers, MLAs and other dignitaries and guests offered garlands and khadas and paid floral tribute to the statue of the first Chief Minister of Sikkim, Padma Vibhushan Late Kazi Lhendup Dorji Khangsarpa.

On this day in 1975, our Himalayan State of Sikkim became the 22nd State of India.

The State level function was scaled back and shortened this year due to the current Covid-19 situation.
