Field Inspection, Review Meeting cum Open Discussion Of Sikkim Garib Awas Yojna(SGAY)

Namchi, 2nd July (IPR) : Field Inspection, Review Meeting cum Open Discussion Of Sikkim Garib Awas Yojna(SGAY) was conducted on 29.06.2021 to 01.07.2021, under Namchi Block under the leadership of Ms. Anjeeta Rajalim, Additional Political Secretary (South) to Hon’ble Chief Minister, Govt. of Sikkim accompanied by ADC Dev. Namchi, BDO Namchi, concerned Panchyat members, officials from BAC, Namchi, Project Manager and beneficiaries.

As informed by BDO (Namchi),The field inspection programme started with fruitful interaction session amongst beneficiaries, village contractor, project company, panchyat members and departmental official concerned. She informed that there are 10 GPUs and 1 Municipality, total of 63 wards under Namchi block . The SGAY house alloted under Namchi Block is 228 houses and the SGAY house is estimated to built at the cost of 17,51,000.The construction modalities of SGAY are as follows:

1. 3 rooms with kitchen and bathroom

2. 1 set sofa

3. 1Center Table

4. 2 Almirahs

5. 2 single beds

6. 1 double bed

7. 32″ Colour Television Set

The SGAY houses which are being constructed under Namchi Block are:

1. Namchi – Singithang constituency – 100 SGAY houses

2. Poklok- Kamrang under Namchi Block- 112 SGAY houses

3. Kitam GPU under Kitam Constituency – 13 SGAY houses

4.SANGA SAGY houses – 03

She further informed that APS accompanied by BDO (Namchi) and other officials visited Kitam-Manpur, Sorok – Shyampani and Boomtar-Saleybong GPUs on 29th June.

On 30th June they visited Mamley-Kamrang, Tingrithang and Damthang GPUs and On 1st July they visited Rong- Bull, Maniram-Phalidara and Assangthang GPUs. During the inspection, it was noted that under Namchi -Singithang GPU 60 percentage of work has been taken up and under Poklok-kamrang GPU 65 percentage of work has been taken up.

Furthermore, she stated that during the interaction session and visit to the actual site, the problems for the delay of the construction were discussed.After the enquiry it was known that the problem was due to heavy amount of head carriages, rough road and shortage of labour due to pandemic.

Problems faced by the beneficiaries were well addressed by the monitoring team and on spot settlement of various issues related to SGAY had been done, assuring of every possible support to complete their houses in stipulated time frame. The project company representatives were directed to start the construction works where the works hasn’t been started yet,within a week without compromising the quality & quantity of the building materials.

The field inspection and visit to the actual site was found to be fruitful and satisfactory. The beneficiaries and village contractor have expressed their appreciation and gratitude toward Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang for his immense love and support towards them.
