Gangtok, September 13( IPR): Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang inaugurated the first house under Sikkim Garib Awas Yojana (SGAY) at Nandok, Syari constituency, today, and handed it over to the beneficiary.
The Hon’ble Chief Minister was accompanied by Hon’ble Minister cum Area MLA, Shri. Kunga Nima Lepcha, Hon’ble Cabinet Ministers Shri. B.S. Panth and Shri.Bhim Hang Limboo, Hon’ble MLAs Shri. G.T. Dhungel and Shri. Em Prasad Sharma, Hon’ble Advisor, Shri. Tenzing Lamtha, Principal Secretary, RDD, Shri. C.S Rao, ADC (Development) Gangtok, BDO Nandok and officials.
Sikkim Garib Awas Yojna is a flagship program of the State Government to facilitate housing for the poor and to improve the quality of life of deserving households by providing basic amenities. It aims to provide pucca houses to approximately 3,050 beneficiaries from across the State.
The house constructed under SGAY is a single storey RCC structure, which consists of a living room, two bedrooms, kitchen, toilet along with TV and furniture comprising of 1 sofa set, 1 centre table, 2 almirah, 2 single beds, and 1 double bed. The house was constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. seventeen lakh fifty-one thousand including furniture and a TV.
It may be mentioned here that the Hon’ble Chief Minister launched the Sikkim Garib Awas Yojana on October 8th 2020 at Manan Kendra, Gangtok.
