Ladakh, Sept 23 (IPR): Minister, Agriculture, Horticulture, AH&VS, IPR, and Printing, and Stationery Departments Shri Lok Nath Sharma reached the Union Territory of Ladakh, today. He is accompanied by the CEO, Sikkim Organic Farming Development Agency (SOFDA) Dr. S Anbalagan, and CEO, Sikkim State Organic Certification Agency ( SSOCA) Shri Sudhir Giri, and Quality Manager SSOCA Ms Binita Chhetri.
After his arrival at Ladakh, the Minister began his series of meetings at the level of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, today. At the outset, he had a meeting with the Hon’ble Chairman-cum-Chief Executive Councillor of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Advocate Tashi Gyalson, and Executive Councillor.
During the meeting, both the leaders discussed various areas of strategic cooperation for strengthening the practice of Organic Farming in Sikkim and Ladakh.
Shri Sharma focused on various spheres of marketing and creating market linkages to avail optimum price of the organic produce of the farmers of Sikkim.
He also discussed the possibilities of investment by Ladakh local farmers and entrepreneurs in Sikkim. They also exchanged their inputs to enhance lucrative aspects of value addition.
Minister Shri Sharma also threw light on the farmer-friendly policies, programs, and exemplary financial incentives initiated by the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang.
Minister Shri Lok Nath Sharma has consented to attend the Ladakh Film Festival on 26th September in Leh. He also shared about tourism potential, unique natural features of Sikkim and touched upon its scope, so that the spectacular destinations and diversified culture of Sikkim can be explored through the film industry.
Further, Shri Sharma also cordially invited the LAHDC COUNCIL and concerned officials of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council to attend the upcoming Global Film Festival in Sikkim scheduled to be held in the second week of December 2021 and see the good and innovative work by the Government of Sikkim under the leadership of the Chief Minister of Sikkim Shri Prem Singh Tamang.
