Guwahati, September 24: Shri Karma Loday Bhutia, Minister of Mines and Geology, Forest and Environment and Science and Technology Departments, Government of Sikkim along with Smt. Bharati, IFS, Principal Secretary, and Shri Saran Shilal, Sr, Engineer, Department of Mines & Geology, Government of Sikkim attended the “Investors meet” on “Exploration and Production Investment Opportunities” in the North Eastern Region on 24th September 2021 at Guwahati, Assam.
Shri. Karma Loday Bhutia in his speech highlighted the Government of Sikkim’s intention to work towards achieving and reaffirming Sikkim’s and India’s collective commitment to making India Atma Nirbhar by exploring the possibilities of investment opportunities in a sustainable manner. He underlined the basic socio-cultural structure, the topography, the state’s strategic location vis-a-vis Sikkim’s potential for oil and gas exploration.
Smt. Bharati, Principal Secretary, Mines and Geology Department, Government of Sikkim, highlighted the unexplored natural resources of Sikkim. She also highlighted the Ease of Doing Business initiatives taken up by the State including the implementation of Su Swastha Sikkim Yojana.
Present in the meeting was Minister, of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India, Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of State in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India, Shri Rameswar Teli, Chief Minister of Assam, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma, Ministers of Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland and senior officers from all eight North-Eastern states.
