Hon’ble Minister Shri K.N. Lepcha inaugurated the newly constructed 12 classrooms & a multi-purpose hall at GSSS Pelling

Gyalshing, 2nd November 2021 (IPR): The Hon’ble Shri Kunga Nima Lepcha, Minister Education Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Government of Sikkim inaugurated the newly constructed 12 classrooms and a multi-purpose hall at Government Senior Secondary School, Pelling, West Sikkim today.

The Education Minister was accompanied by the Hon’ble Minister PHE and Area MLA (Yangthang), Shri Bhim Hang Subba along with Shri. Hari Narayan Subedi, Chairman (PHE), Shri. Amrit Raj Rai, Secretary (Education), Shri. Karma R. Bonpo, DC West, Shri. Tashi Wangyal Bhutia, SP West, Head of different departments, Senior Officers of the State administration, students and others.

Addressing the house, Shri Kunga Nima Lepcha extended his sincere gratitude towards the Chief Minister of Sikkim for always being positive in terms of Education. He mentioned that the government has been focusing on the development of the west district. He suggested the teaching faculties adapt themselves to the present situation of online education. He emphasized digitalized education and proposed the teaching faculties to come up with new innovative teaching methods, involving more students participation. This will help build teacher, students understanding and relation.

The Education Minister further re-affirmed the State Government’s commitment and support towards the holistic development of the students along with accessibility to better infrastructure and scholarship.

Shri Bhim Hang Subba, Minister PHE Department expressed his gratitude towards the government for always prioritising Education. He expressed his appreciation towards Minister Kunga Nima Lepcha for initiating progressive projects under the West District. While addressing the house he stated that the construction and inauguration of the new innovative 12 classrooms and the multi-purpose hall will motivate and aid the students and the teachers. He also mentioned that with little more effort West can become the educational hub and can attract all District, thus improving the education system stability for the local community. He requested the local community to coordinate with the school head and the staff for the betterment of society.

Further, Shri Kunga Nima Lepcha along with the guests inspected the old school building, Library and the Science Lab of the school. He then visited the Gyalshing Government College and intersected with the faculties of the college. Lastly, he visited Kyongsa Public ground.
