Temi Autumn Festival, 2021

Namchi, 26th November(IPR): The three day long Temi Autumn Festival, 2021 themed ‘Vocal For Local’ commenced with much fanfare at Temi Tea Garden, today. Chairman Sikkim Poultry Development Board Mr Krishna Gurung graced the occasion as the chief guest. He officially declared the festival open. He was accompanied by Officials and the Public at large.

Temi Autumn Festival aims to promote Temi Tea Estate where Sikkim’s organic tea leaves are grown. This festival also encourages local entrepreneurship and provide a platform for local artists.

Addressing the event, the Chief Guest extended his warm greetings to all on the commencement of the festival and congratulated the organising members for successively hosting the carnival. He said that the Temi region has a great potential to garner domestic as well as international tourists. In this regards the locals can turn this into a golden opportunity to create employment and sustain their livelihood. Further, the chairman also informed about various other scopes of tourism to develop this area into a tourist hub.

The inaugural ceremony saw various cultural and musical performances by local artists.

It may be mentioned here that the carnival offers a numerous array of stalls ranging from tea tasting, traditional, arts and handicrafts stalls which are set up by various Self Help Groups and local entrepreneurs. In addition, adventure activities such as horse riding, helicopter joy ride, jeep safari, zip-lining, camping and many more are also available for visitors to experience.Temi Autumn Festival, 2021
